Doug Geiger

Master Falconer/Educator

Doug started his falconry career 46 years ago. It began with Red Tailed Hawks then moved onto Goshawks, Cooper’s Hawks, Sharp Shinned Hawks and Harris Hawks. Doug was breeding Harris Hawks way back in the 1970’s. Throughout his career he has flown Peregrines and Prairie Falcons (both passage and eyas) as well as hybrid falcons. Doug’s real allegiance belongs to the Goshawk. He typically trains and flies at least two new birds a year and is proud to say he has caught many head of wild game every year by utilizing his expertise.

 
 
 
 
 

Adam McGuire

Falconer/Educator

Adam has been learning the art of falconry under the guidance of Doug Geiger. As a young child he was inspired to learn about falconry when a falconer came to his elementary school with his red tailed hawk. Adam is passionate about sharing his falconry knowledge with everyone in the hopes that it'll inspire someone else like it did him.

Gary Denzler

Falconer/Educator

Gary is renowned bird of prey trainer with 50 years at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens (1968-2018). During that time Gary was the lead bird trainer, founding the zoo's world renowned "Wings of Wonder" bird show. He is also quite the historian on Old World Falconry, so be sure to ask Gary all the questions you can think of when he comes out to your show! 

 
 



 

Becky Geiger

Falconer/Educator

Becky has held a falconry license for 20 years. She appreciates all birds of prey but finds the Red Tailed Hawk uniquely suited to Ohio’s environment and available prey. She loves educating kids about the natural world and where raptors fit in. Becky has an especially keen interest in animal and avian behavior.
